Bijan Soleimani Sensei


Head instructor

Sensei Bijan originally trained in the Wado Ryu style of karate, under the tutelage of Abe Sense (Student of Grand Master Outsuka, the founder of Wado Ryu).

In the early 80’s, he joined Soke Kanazawa and SKIF in the United States.

He was first awarded the title of Kyoshi in 2002, and 7th Dan in 2011 by Soke Kanazawa.

He was then awarded the title of Hanshi and 8th Dan in 2023 by SKIF Japan GHQ.

Sensei Bijan has been teaching karate in Marin and the east bay for over 39 years.

Together with Jonathan Kwok Hanshi, he is the founder of SKI-USF and a Chairman of the Executive Board of SKI-US Federation.


Eron Sunando

Eron Sunando Sensei

Assistant instructor

Sensei Eron comes from a family of dedicated Karate-kas in his home country of Indonesia and started his training when he was 7. He received his Shodan (1st degree black belt) when he was 17 at SKIF HQ with the late Soke Kanazawa Hirokazu, founder of SKIF. He currently holds a 4th Dan.

Achievements:

  • 3rd Place SKIF World Championship in 1991 junior black belts Kumite
  • 1st place over 40 category 2023 SKIF All Japan National Championship Kata
  • 3rd place over 40 category 2023 SKIF All Japan National Championship Kumite

Currently, he teaches Adult and family classes on Mondays, 5:30pm – 7:00pm, at the Albany community center.


Addie Andreeva

Addie Andreeva

2nd Dan
Assistant instructor

Addie is a 2nd (Ni) Dan black belt in Shotokan Karate SKIF. She has been training for over 30 years – started in Bulgaria, continued in Germany and finally in New York and San Francisco.

Addie has been an instructor for over 15 years and a competitor in both kumite and kata in national and international level.

She previously taught kids classes on Wednesdays, 4:00pm – 5:15 pm, at the Albany community center.
